Hotel Deals Jump To $11B In EMEA Countries, Report Finds

Law360, New York (November 6, 2013, 3:32 PM EST) -- Hotel deals are hot in Europe, Middle East and Africa this year, with €8.2 billion ($11.09 billion) in total transactions between January and September, a 53 percent increase from the same time last year, according to a brief report released Tuesday by Jones Lang LaSalle’s Hotels & Hospitality Group.

Most of the activity happened in the U.K. and France, which represent 40 percent of the €2.3 billion in hotel transactions in the third quarter. But Southern Europe is also heating up, with trading up in Portugal...
