Mass. AG Latest To Set Sights On Patent Trolls

Law360, New York (November 6, 2013, 8:43 PM EST) -- Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley said Wednesday that her office is looking into ways to crack down on the activities of so-called patent trolls in the state, following the lead of several of her colleagues across the country who have begun investigating abusive patent litigation.

At a press conference at the Boston office of mobile payment startup LevelUp, Coakley stated that such suits are hurting technology companies and need to be reduced. LevelUp said it has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars defending against three lawsuits...
