Contractors Still Hesitant About New SUSPEND Act

Law360, New York (November 6, 2013, 6:15 PM EST) -- Contractor representatives still have reservations about the retooled Stop Unworthy Spending Act under consideration in the House, arguing Wednesday that the proposed legislation could force agencies to unreasonably ramp up their suspension of contractors in order to hit arbitrary targets set in the law.

Congress has increased its scrutiny of contractor suspension and debarment in recent years, after reports by the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan highlighted weaknesses in the suspension and debarment offices of civilian agencies....
