Kickbacks Earn Ex-NY Hospital CEO 18-Month Prison Term

Law360, New York (November 7, 2013, 7:40 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday sentenced the onetime CEO of New York’s famed Hospital for Special Surgery to 18 months in prison for shaking down a subordinate for $300,000 in kickbacks and lying to federal investigators.

John R. Reynolds, who was chief executive for half of his two-decade tenure at HSS, also must forfeit nearly $720,000 as part of a plea deal inked earlier this year. A final decision on restitution will be made next month.
