Defense Dept.'s Policy Chief Latest To Leave Pentagon

Law360, New York (November 8, 2013, 7:15 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Defense's undersecretary for policy matters, James N. Miller, reportedly told Secretary Chuck Hagel on Friday that he was stepping down from his post, making him the latest high-ranking official to leave the Pentagon.

Miller, who is a civilian in charge of national security and defense policy, will resign by the end of January, Defense News has reported.

The report follows the announcement last month that Miller's superior, Deputy Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, will also step down.
