Quinn Emanuel, Samsung Should Be Sanctioned, Judge Says

Law360, New York (November 12, 2013, 4:54 PM EST) -- A California magistrate judge said Friday that he believes that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and its attorneys from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP should be sanctioned for mishandling confidential Apple Inc. licensing information, but gave the company a final chance to defend itself.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal ordered Samsung and Quinn Emanuel to show cause why they should not be sanctioned for distributing an improperly redacted expert report that divulged details of Apple's smartphone patent license license with Nokia Corp. to Samsung executives....
