Law360, New York (November 12, 2013, 4:29 PM EST) -- For the past seven years, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. attorney’s office have together targeted SAC Capital Advisors LP in an insider trading probe. On Nov. 4, SAC entered into a plea agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice that requires SAC to close its investment advisory businesses and pay $1.8 billion in penalties — the largest insider trading fine in history.
