ATK Wins $84M Air Force Warhead Sensor Contract

Law360, New York (November 12, 2013, 5:29 PM EST) -- The U.S. Army Contracting Command has awarded Alliant Techsystems Inc. an $84 million contract to provide the U.S. Air Force with DSU-33D/B proximity sensors that use radar signals to determine the correct height from which to launch bombs, ATK announced Tuesday. 

The initial order set in the contract is valued at $22.8 million, with deliveries expected to begin in 2015. But the contract also contains provisions for four additional order periods, bumping its total value to $84 million.
