Prosecutors Ask 7th Circ. To Keep Blagojevich Locked Up

Law360, New York (November 13, 2013, 8:02 PM EST) -- Federal prosecutors on Tuesday urged the Seventh Circuit to uphold the conviction of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, saying his offer to trade a U.S. Senate seat for a political appointment was clearly bribery.

Blagojevich's offer to fill President Barack Obama's Senate seat with an Obama-favored appointee in exchange for an appointment to Obama's cabinet is clearly illegal, prosecutors said in a brief.
