Court OKs Previously Scuttled $29M Ecolab OT Settlement

Law360, New York (November 14, 2013, 1:28 PM EST) -- A California federal judge gave final approval Tuesday to a $29 million settlement in a class action alleging Ecolab Inc. denied overtime wages to hundreds of exterminators, a deal that was initially stalled after the court sought more information on the adequacy of the two class representatives.

In denying initial settlement approval, U.S. District Judge Fernando M. Olguin required class representatives Doug Ladore and Antonio Carbajal to submit declarations about the time they spent and risks they endured during the litigation as well as an explanation of the work they did with their lawyers.
