Pa. House Passes Bill Letting Bars Profit From Gambling

Law360, Philadelphia (November 14, 2013, 4:55 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania House of Representatives approved a bill Wednesday that would allow bars to profit from gambling activities, known as small games of chance, paving the way for a likely signature from Gov. Tom Corbett.

The legislation, House Bill 1098, would amend the state’s Local Option Small Games of Chance Act by adding a section allowing for the licensing of bars and taverns for what’s described as tavern gaming, such as pull-tab games, daily drawings or tavern raffles.
