Farmers Insurance Prevails Over Medical Expenses Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (November 18, 2013, 4:04 PM EST) -- The Tenth Circuit ruled Monday that state law allowed Farmers Insurance Exchange to limit its coverage of medical expenses incurred in an accident involving a Colorado man who subsequently filed a proposed class action against the company.

The appeals court decided that a statute requiring car insurance policies to cover medical payments due to a vehicular accident doesn't explicitly block insurers from limiting their coverage to within two years from the date of the accident.
