Sens. Propose To Extend FAA Fatigue Rules To Cargo Pilots

Law360, San Diego (November 18, 2013, 7:10 PM EST) -- Three Democratic U.S. senators proposed a bill Wednesday that seeks to require cargo plane pilots to be sufficiently rested and alert before they fly, a safety measure that would subject them to the same rules governing pilots of passenger planes.

Sens. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., introduced the Safe Skies Act, which aims to close a loophole in existing rules to make sure all pilots are flying under the same standards.
