3rd Circ. Affirms Plavix Injury Dismissals in NJ

Law360, New York (November 18, 2013, 8:39 PM EST) -- The Third Circuit on Monday upheld a New Jersey federal court’s dismissal of two suits against drugmakers Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and Sanofi-Aventis US LLC over injuries and deaths allegedly caused by anti-clotting drug Plavix.

A three-judge panel affirmed decisions by U.S. District Judge Freda L. Wolfson granting summary judgment for the defendants in the failure-to-warn suits — one filed by the widow of a patient who died from bleeding caused by Plavix and another by a Plavix consumer who suffered from gastrointestinal bleeding.
