NY Bill Would Bar Landlords From Charging Legal Fees

Law360, New York (November 20, 2013, 4:17 PM EST) -- A New York Assemblyman from the Bronx introduced legislation Wednesday to ban landlords from tacking legal fees onto tenants' rent bills without either prior contractual approval or a court order, a measure the sponsor says is necessary to check an expansion of surcharges driving up New York City rents.
