FTC Nets $11M Settlement In Mobile Phone 'Cramming' Case

Law360, New York (November 21, 2013, 1:53 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission said Thursday that the operators of an Atlanta-based company have settled allegations that they crammed charges on consumers' cellphone bills without their consent, causing more than $10 million in consumer injury.

The two settlements with Wise Media LLC, its CEO Brian M. Buckley and owner Winston J. DeLoney permanently ban them from placing any charges on consumers' phone bills or assisting anyone else in doing so.
