Aviva To Pay $4M To States In Latest Death Master File Deal

Law360, New York (November 21, 2013, 2:13 PM EST) -- Aviva Life and Annuity Co. and an affiliate have agreed to fork over $4 million to California, Florida, Pennsylvania and other states and reform business practices to settle claims that they improperly used a national death database, officials said Thursday.

State insurance regulators have struck similar deals with more than half of the national life and annuity insurance market.
