House Panel Demands OPM's Security Clearance Docs

Law360, New York (November 22, 2013, 5:04 PM EST) -- In the wake of the deadly Washington Navy Yard shooting and the myriad of classified documents leaked by former defense contractor Edward Snowden, the chairman of the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Friday said he has subpoenaed documents relating to the federal security clearance process.

Rep Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said he is seeking the documents from Office of Personnel Management Director Katherine Archuleta. As the “clearing house” for the federal security clearance process, Issa said OPM has a responsibility to present a complete picture...
