Nielsen To Pay $117M For Harris Interactive

Law360, New York (November 25, 2013, 6:52 PM EST) -- Television ratings powerhouse Nielsen Holdings NV has agreed to buy market research firm Harris Interactive Inc., best known for the Harris Poll, for roughly $117 million, the companies announced Monday.

Nielsen plans to make a tender offer through a wholly owned subsidiary to acquire all outstanding shares of Rochester, N.Y.-based Harris’ common stock for $2.00 per share in cash, a two percent premium over the volume weighted average closing stock price in the last 60 consecutive trading days.
