Dish Slams LightSquared's 'Litigation Sideshow'

Law360, New York (November 26, 2013, 2:44 PM EST) -- Dish Corp. is once against trying to dodge claims that its chairman improperly bought up the secured debt of LightSquared Inc. in an effort to snag the bankrupt company’s wireless spectrum assets, urging a judge Tuesday to dismiss the allegations.

Dish had already succeeded once in convincing U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Shelley C. Chapman to throw out similar claims brought by LightSquared’s controlling shareholder, Philip Falcone’s Harbinger Capital Partners LLC, last month. But the judge left room for LightSquared to bring them instead.
