Brookfield Spends $200M On Manhattan NYMEX Headquarters

Law360, New York (November 26, 2013, 4:04 PM EST) -- Brookfield Office Properties Inc. has acquired the New York Mercantile Exchange headquarters in Lower Manhattan from CME Group Inc. for $200 million, with plans to integrate the building into its Brookfield Place office complex, the developer announced Tuesday.

The building, at One North End Avenue, has always been an “unofficial” part of Brookfield Place, the company said, and adding it to the development will bolster Brookfield's $250 million repositioning strategy, which it began several years ago in an effort to become a pure-play office company....
