Fla. Atty Found Guilty Of $1M Fraud Against Seminoles

Law360, New York (November 27, 2013, 1:24 PM EST) -- A former attorney for the Seminole Tribe of Florida was found guilty Tuesday of fraudulently billing the tribe $1 million in legal fees for helping it open radio stations.

A federal jury in Fort Lauderdale found attorney Frank Excel Marley III, 39, of Miramar guilty of one count of mail and wire fraud and six of nine counts of embezzlement from Indian tribal organizations for allegedly inflating billable hours and billing the tribe for travel, conferences and meetings that never occurred.
