Judge Curtails LA Sriracha Plant Over Odor Complaints

Law360, New York (November 27, 2013, 5:14 PM EST) -- A California state court judge on Tuesday ordered Sriracha hot sauce maker Huy Fong Foods Inc. to partially close down its Los Angeles-area production facility in response to odor complaints from nearby residents.

Irwindale, Calif., sued Huy Fong in Los Angeles Superior Court in October, alleging that residents have attributed cases of heartburn, asthma and nosebleeds to the peppery fumes that emanate from the company’s factory in the city.
