DOD Picks 7 Cos. For $4B Anti-WMD Research Contract

Law360, New York (December 4, 2013, 6:32 PM EST) -- Seven defense contractors have received a maximum $4 billion multiple-award contract to conduct research and technology development for the U.S. Department of Defense’s anti-weapons of mass destruction initiatives, the DOD announced Tuesday.

Alion Science and Technology Corp., Applied Research Associates, Engility Corp., Exelis Inc., Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Raytheon Co., and Leidos, Inc., were awarded the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, under which the DOD will follow up with task orders for specific research and development tasks related to its nonproliferation, counterproliferation and consequence-management objectives, the Pentagon said in...
