Pa. Senate Orders Study On State Gaming Expansion

Law360, Philadelphia (December 5, 2013, 5:42 PM EST) -- A little more than a week after New Jersey became the third state in the U.S. to allow online gambling, the Pennsylvania Senate on Wednesday ordered a study assessing ways the state could maximize its own gaming revenue.

With a vote of 47-1, the Senate passed a resolution commissioning the General Assembly’s Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to begin a study on the current state and future viability of gaming in Pennsylvania with an eye toward increasing revenue for state coffers.
