Silicon Valley's Lee Named USPTO Deputy Director

Law360, Los Angeles (December 11, 2013, 4:11 PM EST) -- The U.S. Secretary of Commerce on Wednesday named the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Silicon Valley regional director Michelle K. Lee as the national office's new deputy director.

Lee will serve as the deputy director of the USPTO and the deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property, the USPTO announced Wednesday. Lee will take on the responsibilities of the patent office’s director until one is named by the president, the agency said.
