Pharma Co. Investors Can Serve China Execs Via US Counsel

Law360, Los Angeles (December 11, 2013, 7:46 PM EST) -- A New Jersey federal judge on Wednesday said that shareholders bringing a derivative action against the leadership of American Oriental Bioengineering Inc. can serve the company’s China-based officers and directors through their U.S.-based counsel.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Tonianne J. Bongiovanni matched an earlier California court’s decision in a parallel suit, saying the plaintiffs could still reasonably reach the company’s foreign directors through the company’s U.S. attorneys.
