Starbucks, Kraft Get Discovery Bid Nixed In $5M Suit

Law360, New York (December 12, 2013, 3:10 PM EST) -- A Michigan federal judge refused Thursday to grant a woman's supplemental discovery bid in her $5 million putative class action accusing Kraft Foods Global Inc. and Starbucks Corp. of deceiving customers about their products' compatibility.

U.S. District Judge Gordon J. Quist said that because plaintiff Pamela Montgomery didn't comply with a local Michigan rule, where "the moving party shall ascertain whether the motion will be opposed," it was enough to dismiss her motion for additional discovery.
