NYC Slams Stop-And-Frisk Reform Order In 2nd Circ.

Law360, New York (December 12, 2013, 12:54 PM EST) -- New York City on Tuesday urged the Second Circuit to reverse an overhaul of its divisive stop-and-frisk police tactics ordered in two class actions, claiming the practice is constitutional and slamming the judge in those cases for her alleged partiality.

The Second Circuit removed U.S. District Judge Shira A. Scheindlin from the cases in late October amid concerns over her neutrality and halted her orders declaring the controversial anti-crime street tactic unconstitutional while  demanding widespread police reforms and the appointment of an independent monitor.
