Madoff Employee's Atty Casts Doubt On Gov't Star Witness

Law360, New York (December 12, 2013, 10:03 PM EST) -- A defense lawyer in the fraud case against former employees of Bernard Madoff suggested on Thursday that a star witness had lied, saying he falsely implicated his ex-colleagues to win a plea bargain.

Defense lawyer Larry H. Krantz of Krantz & Berman LLP suggested in cross-examination that Frank DiPascali, one of Madoff's top lieutenants, misled prosecutors about the extent of two Madoff computer programmers' involvement in his Ponzi scheme.
