Air Cargo Defendants Seek Last Word On Dismissal

Law360, New York (March 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A squabble over who should get the last word on a motion to dismiss an antitrust case against a number of major airlines continued on Friday, with defendants in the multidistrict litigation asking a judge to bar plaintiffs from filing a final reply.

Defendants in the case, including Qantas Airways Ltd., Martinair Holland NV, Thai Airways Ltd. and others, moved last year to dismiss state law charges that they had conspired to fix air cargo prices, saying they were preempted by federal law.
