Supreme Court Snuffs Preemption Attack On NYC Crane Laws

Law360, New York (December 16, 2013, 1:36 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to disturb a Second Circuit holding that New York City's crane safety laws are not preempted by federal law, rejecting a steel industry group's contention that the appellate decision would create a confusing patchwork of rules and undercut the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
