No MDL For Goodman Defective Air Conditioner Actions

Law360, New York (December 16, 2013, 2:26 PM EST) -- Despite support from several plaintiffs and the defendant to create a multidistrict litigation, a federal judicial panel refused Friday to centralize lawsuits against Goodman Global Inc. over allegedly defective air conditioners, pointing to the paucity of actions filed.

Goodman and plaintiffs in four of six proposed class actions against the company backed the centralization of the suits, which claim the evaporator coils in Goodman's air conditioners can leak coolant.
