Celebrity Chef Scott Conant Hit With IP, Contract Suit

Law360, New York (December 17, 2013, 3:34 PM EST) -- Business partners of celebrity chef Scott Conant sued the former “Top Chef” star in Florida federal court, claiming Monday that he unilaterally executed a publishing contract for his new book, "The Scarpetta Cookbook," infringing on their trademark rights.

Red One Holding LLC and Antonello Paganuzzi, together and derivatively on behalf of Scott Conant Management LLC, a company co-managed by Conant, claim that he has breached an operating contract in which he agreed to not use the “Scott Conant” and “Scarpetta” trademarks without permission from SCM....
