DOD Contractors Fined $1M In Invoice Fraud Case

Law360, Los Angeles (December 17, 2013, 8:37 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge has ordered two brothers who owned a defense contracting firm and pled guilty earlier this year to defrauding the U.S. government by invoicing personal expenses to pay a $1 million fine, the U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Kim Gibson also sentenced Kuchera Defense Systems Inc. owners and managers William Kuchera, 58, and Ronald Kuchera, 52, to five years' probation for submitting false invoices and overbilling the U.S. Department of Defense for their company's overhead and expenses, according to...
