$300M NY Public Library Expansion Moves Forward

Law360, New York (December 18, 2013, 2:42 PM EST) -- The New York Public Library's $300 million renovation plan for the Central Library at 42nd Street has cleared two major hurdles, gaining an environmental approval from the city and a green light from the state's parks regulator, the library announced Tuesday.

The Mayor's Office of Environmental Coordination issued a determination this week that the library's plans, which aim to turn the central branch into the country's largest combined circulating and research library, would not have an adverse environmental impact.
