SC Resorts Sue Law Firm For Using IP To Steal Web Traffic

Law360, New York (December 18, 2013, 4:49 PM EST) -- The operators of four Hilton Head time-share resorts filed suit in South Carolina federal court Tuesday, accusing law firm Naert & DuBois LLC of using their registered trademarks in search engine management campaigns through sites like Google.com and Bing.com to generate hits on its own website.

Beginning in January, the firm and its owners, Joseph DuBois and Zach Naer, purchased as keywords the resorts' trademarks and service marks and the names of the time-share resorts through Internet advertising services like Google AdWords, so Naert & DuBois'...
