Bloomberg Asks Top Court To Revive Fat-Fighting 'Soda Ban'

Law360, New York (December 20, 2013, 1:23 PM EST) -- Mayor Michael Bloomberg told the state's top court Thursday that the health board had the power to cap portion sizes of sugary drinks sold at businesses New York City regulates, doubling-down on the notion that the so-called soda ban, despite its rejection by lower courts, was a legal move designed to combat obesity.
