Issa Floats Bill To Restore $6.2B In Military Pension Cuts

Law360, Washington (January 2, 2014, 8:14 PM EST) -- Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., on Thursday announced he had introduced legislation designed to repeal $6.2 billion in planned cuts to military retiree pensions included in a recent budget deal, saying the cuts would be offset by the proposed elimination of the U.S. Postal Service's Saturday mail delivery.

The bill, H.R. 3801, would repeal Section 403 of the Bipartisan Budget Act, the recent bill codifying a budget deal hashed out by House and Senate budget negotiators to fund the government for two years, which passed last month...
