Law360, Los Angeles (January 3, 2014, 4:35 PM EST) -- An Arizona federal judge sent Raytheon Co.’s $100 million suit accusing Alliant Techsystems Inc. of failing to fulfill five subcontracts for rocket motors to state court, finding Thursday that the issue of whether a government contractor breached those deals wasn’t necessarily a federal question.
In her decision, U.S. District Judge Cindy K. Jorgenson ruled that the issue wasn’t federal just because it dealt with government contractors, ultimately finding that there weren’t substantial federal interests involved in the dispute.
