Polluter Bankruptcies Prompt Lawsuit Against EPA

Law360, New York (March 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Citing a wave of bankruptcies that has left billions in environmental cleanup costs unpaid, environmental groups sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday, demanding that it pass regulations requiring polluting companies to provide assurance that they can pay for future cleanups.
