WMC Can’t Dodge Freddie Suit Over $1B Mortgage Pool

Law360, New York (January 8, 2014, 7:42 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday greenlighted a Freddie Mac suit accusing WMC Mortgage LLC of misrepresenting some of $1 billion in mortgages it pooled and sold, denying a new request from the defunct lender to throw out the case.

U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein said he would not reconsider his earlier decision to keep the case alive in spite of WMC's request that it be dismissed.
