Corinthian Wants Cut Of $1.5M Award Against Texas Atty

Law360, Houston (January 8, 2014, 4:20 PM EST) -- Corinthian Colleges Inc. launched a suit in Texas state court Tuesday to enforce its cut of a $1.5 million sanctions award entered against a Houston-area attorney for pursuing frivolous claims on behalf of former Corinthian employees in a California whistleblower case.

In a petition filed in Harris County District Court, Corinthian is requesting domestication of a $984,457 judgment it secured against Scott D. Levy in June after a California federal judge found that the lawyer caused the college to rack up needless attorneys' fees defending allegations...
