Controversial Judge In Delta Bankruptcy Replaced

Law360, New York (January 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The judge overseeing bankruptcy proceedings for Delta Air Lines Inc. has been permanently replaced after initially taking a two-month medical leave. Representatives of the number-three carrier, as well as the court, say the development would not delay the case.

Judge Prudence Carter Beatty, with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, had been handling the case since Delta filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2005.
