Debt Collection Co. To Face TCPA Suit Over Unit's Calls

Law360, New York (January 9, 2014, 8:06 PM EST) -- A California federal judge ruled Wednesday that Portfolio Recovery Associates Inc. must face Telephone Consumer Protection Act multidistrict litigation for its subsidiary's alleged use of an automatic telephone dialing system without consumers' consent, finding that the parent company could be held liable.
