FTC Dissent Could Spell End To Strict Health Ad Standard

Law360, New York (January 10, 2014, 10:07 PM EST) -- Federal Trade Commissioner Maureen Ohlhausen recently dissented to a settlement that requires a pair of marketers to back up their health benefit claims with two studies, providing hope to advertisers that have long wished for the commission to abandon what they view as an unreasonably stringent standard for health- and disease-related marketing.
