Burger King Franchisee Faces FLSA Suit From Fla. Worker

Law360, New York (January 14, 2014, 2:58 PM EST) -- A Burger King franchise operator was hit Friday with a proposed collective action in Florida federal court alleging workers at its restaurants were paid less than minimum wage and that the company shared responsibility for one worker’s firing after she resisted a manager's sexual advances.

Former employee Mary Reid said First Coast Foods LLC was vicariously culpable for the mistreatment she allegedly faced by “ratifying” the misconduct of her supervisor, who allegedly hit on and groped Reid.
