Siemens Beats Whistleblower's FCA Suit Over VA Charges

Law360, Los Angeles (January 14, 2014, 7:05 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge on Monday dismissed a False Claims Act suit brought by a former Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. employee alleging the company overcharged the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for medical devices, ruling there was no evidence the agency was harmed.

The case was filed by William Thomas as a qui tam action against the Siemens AG subsidiary, alleging Siemens Medical Solutions' bids to sell ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging devices to VA fraudulently omitted discounts that had been given to other customers....
