High Court Says Fee Requests Don't Shift Appeal Deadlines

Law360, New York (January 15, 2014, 12:03 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that an unresolved bid for attorneys' fees based on a contractual agreement does not impact the deadline for appealing a merits decision, overturning a First Circuit decision in an Employee Retirement Income Security Act suit.
