House Armed Services Chairman McKeon To Retire

Law360, Washington (January 16, 2014, 2:11 PM EST) -- House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon, R-Calif., announced Thursday that he would retire at the end of 2014, citing a term limit to his position as chairman and legislative wrangling in the House among the reasons for the move.

McKeon said at a press conference Thursday that while he still felt “special” every time he approached the U.S. Capitol, “other things have told me that it’s time to walk away,” with the biggest factor being an internal party term limit which would have forced him...
